Yes will be. Think I'll come back to do that once I've finished all the welding.

It's taken nearly 6 months since removing the original floor pans which had seen better days, but today finally saw the first floor pan go in.

Step 1: Arse around for 20 minutes getting the thing to fit:

Step 2: Weld that sucker in:

And all finished. Middle sill on that side and rear wheel arch repairs next.[IMG]

Time lapse is brill. Was that a pukka VW floor half?

When I fit them, I reason that my plug welds are much stronger than the original spot welds and I stagger them leaving 2 out of 3 undrilled/unwelded. This helps avoid the distortion you have, but I'm guessing you went a bit fast too. I'd have spread the welding over a whole day.

Yeah I may have gone a bit too fast to start with. I started jumping around a bit more after I'd done the time lapse. On the other floor half I won't do rows of them at a time. Live and learn!

And the distortion is only really noticeable on the edge. The rest of the panel looks nice and flat.

Also what are the huge holes in these panels for? Seat mounts? Not sure what to do with them.

No idea, I spot welded plates over them and seam sealed.

You can see how little welding I did. Lol. I spent ages over it after roller-coastering one previously. That was copy panel though.

Also any time I had to go on the floor before it was completely welded I spread my weight on a large piece of ply.
