Maybe I'm just talking rubbish. I've never had a car worth much more than a grand before... What I do know is I had a good attitude to my £70 passat, I didn't abuse it - I treated it with love, but I certainly didn't worry about how anyone else would perceive it. I think it's harder to adopt that attitude to a more valuable vehicle. Maybe I'll get used to it. It's all relative I suppose.
no...I reckon you're right...whenever I've bought a 'new' car/motorbike/bike (never bought brand new btw) I'd treat it like a jewel for the first few months...after a while, I couldn't be ars*d...the more expensive it was the longer it took to reach the cba stage....i think a lot depends on how much you pay relative to what you earn....most of my purchases have cleared me out for a good few months
I have a very bad record for mistreating my cars, over the years In the RAF I probably bought 8 or 10 cars a year, I only ever put petrol in them and a couple of times didn't even do that. If I happened to have three cars when I got posted I'd just abandon two of them. I quickly get bored with my cars, even the new ones only get treated properly for a couple of months. I think the reason the van gets all the attention it does is that it's not actually 'transport' in my mind but a 'hobby'.
No need for a primer Bob unless it's gone through to bare metal then it just needs a mist of etch The previous paint flatted back acts as your primer
I went to the shops and bought a can of primer and you know me, I'm not one to waste stuff so I put the whole lot on.
Mostly today I've been playing Lego and shops and going on a holiday and driving a cardboard box and painting and glueing with the kids but did get time to spray a whole tin of primer on the van. I expect you want to see a picture of the van now.
