A mini roller rustoleum redecoration

    Overnight really, I resisted 'seeing if it's dry' for 24 hrs.

  6. when i've used enamel in the past, it's tempting to keep going over it...this tends to bring the solvent to the surface which in turn makes the top layer less fluid, reducing the self-levelling properties...this is what causes orange peel effect

    I'd have said paint too thick/cold conditions. :)
     
  8. Thats thats far to course that's why your burning through :( start with 800 then 1000 1500 2000 if you want glass finsh :)but get to 1500 then polish but use soap in your water to help lub your panels ;) for good flat shiny finsh

    I used a bit of soap in the water and thought if I started quite coarse it would save a lot of time. I've got some 600, 1000 and 1500 but now I know just how easy it is to go through on the edges I'll be much more gentle next time. :thumbsup:

  10. Yes but the problem with useing say 320 the marks it leaves are very deep so just to remove the marks for that you will remove a lot of paint before you get anywhere your through the layers of paint ;)

    Ahhh, yes of course. I hate painting, I'm always too impatient. 'spose I should plan on it taking a while.

  15. How's the best way to polish after rubbing down with 1500?

    @sANDYbAY did you do your seems?

    Nope, got bored, fitted all the lights and bumper and went camping. :) I've decided that I need to leave the paint to harden properly, three years or so should do it. :thumbsup:

  17. .Just use some fine cutting compound like g10 or similar and then polish to protect
