  1. Was gonna rebuild this sucker myself and at one point it got serious and I pretty stripped it back to the block.
Hence it's all in boxes ;) now I need the space back in the garage :(
    Here's some pictures

The pistons were pretty carbed up but probably servicable..

The heads looked ok I didn't notice any cracks etc.. The exhaust studs snapped off a couple of em so they need looking at...

Comes with flywheel dizzy etc.. If I get asking price I will throw in exhaust and heat exchangers :)
I can give you the fuel pump but it was definitely leaking past the diafram.
Not for the faint of heart :D

If it don't sell this week then ill consider breaking it up for sale in bits

    What was it out of?

  4. According to the chap I bought it off it came out of a late bay not sure what year tho...

  5. It's all boxed up on a pallet - so if someone wanted to arrange for pickup I guess I can make sure someone is available for the pallet guy :) if that helps anyone....

    It looks like a 2L engine from a T25 to me. ;)

Could it also be out of a 79 bay?

  8. I can't see the pics very well on my phone, but the exhaust ports look like the late bay/t25 square ones. I think that should make it a CJ or CU, is that right?

The fan housing is different and fuel breather and rear tin doesn't look like it would fit a bay.
Not sure it's T25, the last one I saw in a bay was different again. A car of some sort perhaps?

OK I don't know what it is, but it's not a 1700 and 99% will be a 2L. It might have come out of a bus, so do some Saburu engines. :)

Not a CJ engine. They have oval ports.

Also a CJ engine has dipstick through front tinware, not sure if its a CU either?

    Perhaps @Paul Weeding knows?

  13. Can you check numbers on top of the fan casing and the breather tower please and see if they're matching? Does the engine number by the breather tower have the vw@ recycling symbol? Would be interested to know what engine this is, agree with others a couple of bits look odd, the fan casing seems to have odd mounting points too.

Could be interested if you could tell me what it is!
    :)
