  1. Have you sorted the fuel pump yet? I have to clonk mine with a plastic faced mallet everytime it has been left for a month or two over winter - don't hit the plastic top though - just the side. If you are buying a new one get an electronic one - no points to stick but still makes a clicking noise.

  5. Hi, took the old pump off this evening to find the fuel hoses need replacing which is pretty obvious when the snap off in your hand haha!!
Anyway I've bought this pump from mgoc,

Not sure how to fit the new hose when I get it?? The guy said I needed to buy four washers which I did at the time of order but do I need to buy fuel elbows?? Or can I use the ones off the old su pump?
    Cheers

Not read all the posts, but you've no doubt discovered MGBeehive not a million miles away?

  7. Thanks Zed, quite like that others have something in common on here thanks. Atleast I know these guys so kinda makes them more trustworthy haha!! Anyway, appears to be all sorts on here now not just late bays doesn't there ;)

  8. use the elbows and washers off the old pump - then attach your new hoses with clips

  9. Lovely looking motor have had a couple of roadsters last one was rubber bumper. One place that usually goes is at the top rear of the inner wing if you whip the front wheel off and put your hand up there's a ledge that all the mud and crud gathers on if it's clean and good metal that would imply it's had a Resto or been well looked after.hope you get it running soon as it can nearly make you smile as much as driving your bay only nearly though!!!

  11. That's a good buy mate, see if you can hold if it?
Check online valuations for a V8's, good money!!

  12. I have the feeling it might be a bit rotten. Looks like it was stripped years ago then the resto stalled. :(

  13. Lovely MGC - they are pricey now. The V8 engine would fetch over £500 if it is running. You could reshell it if it is rotten

  14. True.
The parents of one of my friends from school were well into their MGs and reshelled a roadster using a new shell. Not a cheap option though.
I went to the owners club AGM at silverstone with her one year and came away really wanting an MGA.

I think they still have it along with an MGB GT V8 and another roadster.

I'd snap it up if i had the storage space as prices are just gonna rise.

  15. You can always find space, if you don't buy it.... I will haha!! ;)

  16. New fuel pump, new brakes, thermostats and housing replaced, washer pump and off for the mot, passed with a couple of minor advisories, cracked tyre wall and chip in windscreen. Been driving it round now for about two weeks, love it!!
