I'm not very good at this updating business but here's and update anyway. Rear corners were finished so I finally made a start on fitting the early rear lights. I also made an removable engine support bar to hold the engine in place The bar needs abit of adjusting but I'm tempted to remake it using rollcage tubing and have it bent rather than cut and weld I have also removed the engine again to finish the repairs to the engine bay Rear of engine bay where wiring loom used to run I also need to make the side trims of the engine bay removable to gain access to the engine support bar bolts
wow, loads of work done since I last looked in on your resto ....its looking great, cant wait to see how you get on with the scooby conversion
Cheers diddy. I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with the conversion also I'm hoping that it won't be long now until I can get some filler on the rear end
Loving what your doing with the Scooby, banded wheels and early rear lights, keep the updates coming!
Been away on holiday for a few weeks but abit if progress has been done While I was away a mate started on the filler work which is a great help as he's a trained panel beater And last nite I started to repair the rear window surrounds
This eve was going soo well until I ran out if welding gas I cut a piece of the panel out and gave it to a mate who works for an engineering company and this is the result of a couple of his lunch breaks, a new piece for the bottom of the rear windows/door runner recess
Passenger rear arch flared to fit 8x14 Drivers rear still to flare It takes ages to do it with a hammer and dolly but once finished I think it will add a nice twist to the rear end as well as being functional
It's slowly getting there. Had the misses working away with the grinder on the front beam so I'll update some more tomo and wed
Nice work on the sump, did you have to modify any of the internals, and how much depth have you reduced it by?
Cheers. The oil pick up needs to be shortened still but that should be a simple fix (I hope). I'm unsure how much I cut off. About 30-35mm I think.
Taken my suspension components into work finally so I can strip them and clean them up prior to painting. I should of done this ages ago as this was only 30mins work during lunch so will free up loads more time in the evenings
It's been a busy days today but feel I'm making some progress. I've spent the day stripping, cleaning and painting suspension components. I also fitted my beam adjusters. Not to self, never remove the spring plates from the beam again lol
