Then decided to hack off the chassis leg And refitted it but this time made sure it is straight Back to the t4 tomorrow eve to sort out the glow plug issue then hopefully back to the bus on wed eve
It's been a long time since I last updated this but that's because its been a long time since I worked on my bus lately. This is reason why But I do have an update for mine. Last weekend I picked up a pair of new doors And today I got a pair of porsche tomb stones as payment for sorting out a makes golf with had munched a cam bucket, new bucket and Cambelt kit later and its a runner Now the other bus is stripped and waiting for some gaskets and an alternator refurb I can hopefully crack on with mine once again
It's been a while I know but finally finished the other bus and its ready for mot so I can now get back on with mine. I have come across a couple of parts I'm unsure of but I can't check against the other bus cause its been plated soo many times I don't have any reference lines to measure from. Here's where I'm at D pillar inners welded in place in-line with the old panel, but the front of the repair piece doesn't fit at all? My next issue to overcome is the battery trays as I seam to have a big gap between where I think they should be and the chassis legs But I think the profile for the rear corner will be ok. You can see clear as mud how bad the outer d pillar repair fits And the one ive finally finished ready for mot
There should be a gap like you have with battery tray/chassis in a horizontal plane (hard to see from your pics). I think the gap gets smaller at the rear.
One day I will get some more work done on this. untill then I've got another part for the scoob conversion. Stainless manifold
I got it off eBay from a company called jap performance. Its a japspeed manifold which rrp at £300 but I won't the auction for £75
Yeh I plan to make it a full stainless and looking to run a long box across the rear to keep it looking like its aircooled
Day off yesterday and a little bit more done D posts repaired Also repaired inside the d-posts in the bay at the top but no photos And also removed the engine from the other bus ready to find this oil leak again
More progress finally That's all for now. Rear light holes are being filled and pre72 lights fitted instead
Progress has been slow lately but I've manage to finally get back up and get some more done And shortened my sump for the conversion
Engine lid lifter fitted in place of standard support spring. Rear lights cut out and new piece rolled and ready to be cut to shape Rear outer valance also fitted now but no photos
Outer valance on and the nearside rear light aperture removed Tomorrow's job afterwork is to weld up the offside rear light and maybe get the engine in so I can make up the support bar
I feel like I'm on a roll now. Just need many more productive days like this afternoon as been Offside rear light welded up Both gone Templates made up for new prototype bay rears so I can work out where they need to sit And what's that I spy under the rear valance Managed to get the engine in place ready so that Tuesday evening I can get back under it and make up an engine support bar and work out if my nice shiny header will fit or if I am going to need to make my own using the old standard scooby headers Also rear wheel fitted so I could check ground clearance to the new shallow sump That's all for now
