I wondered about that but figured maybe it over read at 0 too . I shall take my Tom Tom next time to verify speeds? Tho, I may have to just say that I have quite a lot of play between myself (champion) and 2nd and 3rd, @earlybaybob and @Barry Haynes so I'm not overly worried about adding on a few more seconds
It's a 2 litre with twin carbs. Above that I'm afraid I know little. It's a U.S. import that originally had fuel inj but the people I bought it off stopped it to twin carbs, it does seem to run pretty well.
Cool. The ol 2 ltrs do pull a bus along well don't they Im tempted to join in the silliness if I can find a straight road round here...
This isn't silliness - it is an informative experiment that proves vw campers of all ages go slowly. Apart from @Merlin Cat that is .....
Smashing @Dubs the more the merrier @earlybaybob my van did an extra loud backfire when I pulled up at home after my "speed" epic so my super foot flat down time may not be best for my van!
The gaffer tape on that concertina tube makes it faster. That plus the stripes, unbeatable combination.
Defo the gaffer tape for the win Merlin... going to add a bit (more) to my bus before take off! Didnt get a chance to floor it today
As it's been scorchio today I would have been worried to floor mine today incase added outside temp made it explode!
I must admit the heat wasn't inspiring me either! Even hotter tomorrow apparantly... might leave it till thursday...
Ok I had a go yesterday between roundabouts on the A12 coming back from Southwold. With lots of camping gear on board too. 38 secs. Type 4's rock!
challenge on! Are we going to have to have handicaps? Mine hasn't got camping interior so prob lighter?
i have a colour coordinated kettle that's got to be good for a second or two. And hippy flowery curtains that whip in the wind and hold her back. So st least four seconds in total.
