i think it is 1800, sorry i forgot to mention. But probably same. I feel like anything over around 4000 sounds a bit scary lol.
There's a road near me called straight mile ,its actually 1.1 miles long but perfectly straight only two houses about halfway along and you can see anything coming the other way .I'm thinking it would be the place to do a timed mile from standing
We have one almost exactly a mile long just round the corner, one big house in the middles set right back behind gates. Got a T junction at both ends though, so a standing mile would be a bit scary at the end.
Never. My 1700 was nippy at low speeds with the original gearing and unloaded. The brick like aerodynamics take over once you get going. Are you going to try a quarter mile run just to get a time?
Certainly not! It's a heavy old camper and the engine wasn't built for power. However I will do the 0-60 self timed thing at some point for the fun. I could probably do it using just 2nd and 4th.
I don't think it would manage 60 in 3rd, but above, say 40mph, goes better in 4th anyway. Grunty McGruntface.
I was so inspired by this thread that I've just taken my van for a run and decided to do a 0-60 of my own Bring it on!!!!!
Right then, I'm going to work on my baby all week and I'll be having another go next weekend, and some of it will be up bloody hill, grrrr
It was only the end bit slightly uphill so please don't ruin your engine on my behalf Behold the winning (so far) van. I put it down, partially to my skill and partially to the go faster stripes!
