Bloody awesome work fella I Carnt believe iv only just seen this thread you must be well pleased with yourself Give yourself a pat on the back
Cheers all, yeah pretty chuffed so far, next job is to stick some windows back in and then start on getting the dash in
Ok so today... Floors in Buttys bits throttle linkage thing in, pedal is not yet bolted down, it needs a lick of paint Also the handbrake is in (kind of) Some shiny rings added to the guages And then i cleaned up some of the windows and fitted the seals
You'll certainly know your bus inside out when it's done. Are you planning on going camping in it this summer?
Hopefully! Got a mates wedding in September that she wants me to driver her to, so it needs to be finished and drivea le before then lol.
Ok so today.. Started on the windows. Went for the centre side one first... And i shattered it! With the help of my dad we managed to get the two rears in, the centre side (was the sliding door window) and the windscreen. Then decided to pull the poptop out of the spare room and lift it on.
Hi carl, just reading your post and it's really interesting. Im currently stripping my bus ready to do the interior and was wondering if you could clarify the exact products you used on the interior as after reading numerous posts I'm a tad confused!! Did you paint with waxoil? Was it the dodo stuff next? Is that sound proofing? Or insulation? Or is that the closed cell stuff? Is it hard to get it in the gaps behind where the door cards go? TIA!
Hi, its just paint in there and then i used dodo mat to stick on the panels. Its easy enough to fit in the gaps, as you have to cut it to shape. The silver stuff is just cheap thermal foil bubble wrap from ebay, about £20 a roll. Then 9mm ply base to fill the sunken floor, then i have a 3mm top sheet to cover the entire floor. I'm going to spray waxoyl into the bottom of behind the door cards before i fit them.
Dodo mat on the toof and sides, Only thermal foil on the floor, no dodo mat. I may put some more thernal insulation on the dodo mat behind the doors, but not sure yet tbh.
So the dash top is in, and the plastic air tubes underneath. Wipers are on, headlights are wired up and in. Also made a start on the wiring in the engine bay, its a bit of a mess. Also the rear lights are in. 1 rear quater panel id in along with the spare wheel and cover.
Ok so after work today, got the front carpets in place Then i dug the seats put the loft Put the shiny bits on the front And then put the seatbelts in Is anyone elses steering wheel slightly off centre? Mines about an inch and a half too far to the left i think.
