Has anyone fitted a set of the black brazzilian door handle bundles How did they fit onto original doors and how have they performed over a period of time Did you have any problems with them?
yep he has!! No problems at all with them, the new handles fit perfectly with the old mechanisms and rods..no redrilling, fiddling, cursing or swearing necessary
Is this what you're looking at? http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Sho.../T2_68-79_-P-_T181_Black_Cab_Door_Handle.html
This bundle paul http://www.justkampers.com/vw-t2-ba...ies/door-handles-locks/complete-lock-set.html I was thinking either that bundle or rekeying and painting the ones that are on my bus The thing is i think one or two locks on my bus have had a screwdriver forced into them and im unsure how well paint will adhere to the chrome
Are you thinking black cause modern chrome ones rust quickly? Rekeying is a piece of cake. Just done mine, Only takes about half an hour a lock.
Chrome ones just wont look right with the theme of the paravan All the brightwork will be blacked out
yep Brazilian doors too but we used the old "proper" latebay mechanisms - we did get warned they wouldn't fit properly but we had no issues at all! They feel sturdy too, quite heavy!
I guess it depends if they're a better shape than the repro ones. The non-lock end of repro cab door handles is completely the wrong shape so the seals don't fit.
I quite fancy these aswell, but what mirrors? All the chrome now seems to be cheap and does not last at all. I was thinking of getting some new plastic headlamp surrounds and painting them white to match the top half/poptop, but if I went for these plastic black handles I could paint the light surrounds black aswell?
Its seems theres two prices when it comes to black door handle sets Heritage do a set for about £170 that they say are the brazzy ones and only just in Jk do a black set for about £120 but dont say if there brazzy ones or repro Im probably best rekeying my excisting locks and painting the handles as i want the seals to fit properly This will be the cheaper option aswell
