Hi, Can I introduce Whippo, my 79 Californian Westie. He was formerly a hire camper from vdub campers. I have had him for two years and thought that I would show him some love after safely delivering us to Spain and back this summer. He is in for a full Resto, keeping the westie theme as authentic as possible with some improvements along the way. The final colour will be a classic Mango Green under Seagull Grey. I have already had the engine bay done as part of a Carb conversion from Injection. Dave King is doing the resto, Photos from the first week's progress are here: https://picasaweb.google.com/101031729705907635582/Camper5thOctober2013
Tailgate Transformed! After much searching, I located a tailgate from a Caddy, then Dave did some surgery. Really pleased with the way this turned out!
It's amazing like flares how things go round in circles , the caddy script thing was big in the 90's ...... Nice bus and keep the pics coming
I was thinking that too!! Not many straight ones about either being a commercial vehicle!! But nice work all the same
It wasn't that straight to start with, and did take a lot of finding. Just doing my bit towards raising the value of the Caddy.
Resto Update, Now in the first coat of paint: Seagul Grey! Click on the first picture below for the album.
Got it arrow straight, can't believe the transformation. The blow over it had from the rental conpany has now been completely obliterated.
Looks nice. Liking the tailgate. I want one for my crewcab but I'm too afraid to butcher it. Never heard of that grey colour, is it gloss or flat?
