Ah I see now it was a while ago. I'd take it back and see what they have to say. If they've got any sort of reputation I'd offer to post photos all over the Internet with their company details...
As I said, the underside has been very professionally done by someone who had a great deal of skill and took their time, then they let the tea boy loose on it! I'll come to the badly repaired sliding door later, the front arch I think has been fitted ok. One rear panel under the psuedo track cover has been repaired, but the top of the panel is full of rust holes still! More pics tomorrow.
Well I'm not paying! She didn't go and see what they were doing once, but if she had she'd have seen the nice work underneath and probably confidently left them to it.
I have cleaned up. He does need some practice, but meanwhile they shouldn't be charging £50/hour for his work.
I agree, but I can't get involved in that, I have enough troubles without adding someone elses sadly. I get impression her BF would get stuck in, but I think she's doing the British stiff upper lip thing and putting it down to experience. If they'd carried on I estimate the whole resto would have cost upwards of £30K judging by the cost of what's been done and how much is left to do.
It's not for mee to say who they are. It's not my problem and I don't want to get into a war. I will say though that there's a lesson here - go and look what your restorer is up t, they should be happy to see you even unannounced. You're paying their wages.
It'd be good if the owner would come on and name them. People like this will only be put out of business if the bad press gets around.
I've advised if they insist she pays the transport bill, she should name them and post the pics and price on VZi without comment. No need really, the pics speak for themselves. Also advised she give them a chance to put it right at their expense, but she doesn't want it to go back there.
