I have been looking at replacing fuel hoses but after reading a few negative comments on here about jubilee clips whats wrong with using them? Please educate me. My current lines are connected with these are they ok? Are these any better then jubilee clips? Also have seen these advertised as petrol pipe clips, but they look like jubilee clips to me
The top one is crimp clip they used for speed in production. They're fine. The second one is a proper fuel hose clip, which are cheap enough: no reason not to use them. Make sure you get the right size.
The fuel hose clips tighten evenly on the hose (all round) whereas a jubilee clip will tend to pinch due to not being absolutely round (more oval-ish shaped), at least that is my understanding
Thanks for your help As for correct size..... Well I'm unsure what is the correct size hose to begin with, I see the clips are based on the outside dimensions but hose is sold by internals For fuel line Cool air sell 5.6mm JK 7mm VWH 5mm What size should it be?
The third one is actually a fuel pipe clip... I use them!! They're a lot finer and softer than normal jubilee clips, so they stay round when you tighten them up!!
