  1. Did this ever happen Paul? By beams getting rustier!!

  2. Well... not yet... I actually started looking at the steering transfer box the other day, and I'm short of a couple of parts too

Not sure when I'll get it done at the mo, but it is high on the TD list, as my van won't be going anywhere until I get it done

  3. A m8 of mine,,the one with the split bus, with the red cross on, don't know if you remember the video i put out here, he rebuildt his red 9 kit before he was happy with it.

  4. i think the wishbone set up red 9 do look the business but i have the new beam and easy rider kit on mine and its doing the job but very harsh ride
i had a pro take a look and he didnt seem impressed by it !did he mr weeding?

  7. It was the one with their front beam... mainly the issue was with the idler pin... it lacked any way of greasing it (no grease nipple, or even a hole to fit one) and the lower dust/muck cap couldn't be fitted...

  8. Cheers, that whole front beam does look the business but I'm thinking if just getting the coil overs and bar to replace the torsion bar.

  9. don't expect a phenomenally smooth ride... most people I know with the red 9 coilovers say that it is a very firm ride!! 8)

  10. I'm thinking better a firm ride then needing a step ladder to get in. :D

  11. That is true

  12. In all honesty it does the job for me you get what you pays in this life ;)
my old beam was shot to pieces so i went for this !
i know on its lowest Setting around 5 inch from stock its very harsh but i found a happy medium 8)
but the wifes bits still bounce up and down a bit, but it take the boredom out of long drive lol! >:D

  13. Question - does the red9design still use the front brake backing plates?

This is what we had to do. I must add that the backing plates were new in as much as "new" from Heritage and made for the Brazilian bay. This may account for why this had to be done. 3 new holes were also drilled to line up with the original stub axle. The caliper cutout is also different but not an issue.

  17. Just a quick one, does the red9design wishbone set up come with new bolts to fit it to the chassis? anybody know?

    Cheers.

  18. I think this beam is something i shall be looking at getting for my bay

  19. Perfectly happy with my Red9 setup. Birdy installed it and had a few minor niggles, I think the steering box was shot so Red9 swapped it out a few days later. No power steering yet but check out litesteer.com who sell one for a grand. I'd better get saving :-(

  20. Do you have the full wishbone set up or the coil-over set up? Been told the wisbone set up has the effect of lightening the steering!!
