We barely drink tbh.. A nice glass of red wine, once a week or an IPA... Some weeks nothing at all... My brother drinks every night, Technically an alcoholic... he and his Italian partner love it.. a couple of red (bottles) grappa, sambuca, and a couple of Corona beers... They are so used to it..a bottle of sambuca and grappa a week... He looks 5 years older than me... And I'm 2 years older than him..
Im still finishing off the Christmas plonk, last tinny now being opened, I will be joining in from tomorrow.
It was a Xmas gift, just ready for my birthday. So no dry January here. Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Draught I think ! I used to love a pint of creamy Guinness but never liked the old fogey bottled original .
Impossible as no Bay owner can qualify as a fogey ! Now if you told me you owned a MG or Morris I wouldn't question it .
Was there a thread on here a few months ago with some of the Alcohol Free BeersTLBers had tried out? I think pubs should do more to stock them - and not bloomin Becks Blue!!! Best I've tasted is the Brooklyn Special Effects Alcohol Free Hoppy one. Not doing Dry January, but I am going to try and not drink during the week. I've put on nearly two stone in weight becuase of the hernia and snacking more - I can't see my feet and threre is no way I can afford a new wardrobe of clothes!!!!
Bavaria zero lager is still the nicest I've had. Zero beer should be cheaper in pubs as theoretically there is no alcohol tax duty to pay. Also as part of the extraction process, the alcohol is sold on and used in other alcohol based products like hand sanitizer. But still only a tiny amount of pubs sell zero beers on draught, so its two bottles worth at about £6 a pint.
Crikey! Not had Mackesons in yonks. I used to quite like it. Then I had this bottle of Stout on Christmas Day, and I thought hmmmm, this tastes a lot like Mackesons…… yuck! It was too sweet for a start. I tend to like my beers a bit less “rich” to be honest. Oh, I’m not abstaining this January, I drink so little anyway there’s no point in abstention, maybe apart from like @snotty , avoiding any news related to Covid
My usual are Adnams Ghost Ship and Heineken Zero. Those are the ones I have found reasonably palatable.
I have to say I’ve always avoided alcohol free beers… but then I’m thinking back to the days of Lawrie McMenemy and Barbican… urgh… maybe I should given them a try again as they must have evolved for the better since those days
