To stop going to the pub in January is a catastrophic mistake. We should be supporting our brave hardworking publicans who are battling their best to keep alive a vital community asset against cut price supermarket booze. Forget dry January, get down to the pub and enjoy a drink in a safe social environment!
We're getting a little bit of rain so no, you can't celebrate with a cup of tea. I'll be doing Dry February just as soon as the next one arrives with either 30 or 31 days. Besides it would be an insult to the generations of distillers and whisky merchants who came before me.
I do it every year, have worked in the trade for 20 years, if they don't already pubs should offer suitable non/low alternatives. This was the take on it from a writer in the industry.
I will have your grog ration Wilf Nipper I will swap it for a nice bit of hemp rope that I was going to make a monkeys fist out of
Me. But then I don’t drink any other month so it’s cheating really... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Doing it for the first time - 8 days without a drink is the longest I've ever been. Not been truly tested yet as I've had that bug that's going round.
I did it last year, or maybe the year before actually.. it was just what the Dr ordered! Ended up having the best part of a year dry, and now only have one beer, or two if I'm going really mad, on a Saturday night.
