So this might be better in "general discussion" but ... We're trying to set our bus up at its best for weddings. So far the question I've been asked the most is "how many will it take" which I assume is about its "bridesmaids bus-i-ness" as opposed to its "Bridal car-i-ness" ... (or more bluntly about getting the max transport out of the fee?!) There's a half decent oak floor in there that I don't really want to mess up, so the thinking is to put in an original "rear" bench seat, but rear facing, by clamping or welding the two parts together and then bolting to both bulkheads. I would have a separate set of bulkhead cards for two reasons. 1) I'd want to build in two-sided head restraints to stop heads banging 2) I can have my nice clean "empty" version for our own use and for brides who only need up to four passengers. (Full width r&r in there with 3 belts) All mechanical observations and experiences welcome
There will be limits. Payload of a Bay is 750kg so, looking at many recent wedding photos, that’s only about three bridesmaids. That’s ignoring the weight of the Ginsters they’ll need to keep them going on the way to the church.
I did wonder about that. There would originally have been seats for five in this '71 Cali bus, so maybe I should stipulate me + six max (one in the front) or even five max (still one in the front) not least because I don't like the logistics/limited effectiveness of a lap belt for a rear facing "centre" passenger .....
Just throw them in the back and drive like you stole it! It’s a classic so I don’t think you need seat belt I did one wedding and that was that The point off owning a camper is you can escape weekend if you start doing weddings then your restricted so on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't need seatbelts but public liability insurance smiles beneficently down on them I'd also be happier knowing that they're there anyway ..... As for us using the bus, we don't have to be weekenders for our escapes .... and there's a project sitting next to this "workhorse" that will be "ours" for touring ............ eventually!
