I'm looking for something to use as a whip as we ride up the mountain.

  15. What about the elastic in your underpants? Works for me.

Or...just crash a tin tea tray on your head. It won't attract strange looks. Much.

We've tied some string onto a couple of sticks, we're all set to go.
    Keep those dawgies movin', Rawhide.

  17. I would say a big no no . I’d only use genuine micro bus seats ... or limit it to 3 or 4 people .. the force under braking on a seat is huge .

If they were modern car seats with head restraints fitted rear facing this could work although one of the most unpleasant car rides I ever had was in a minivan taxi in Eindhoven in a rear facing seat from the airport to the Philips Strijp facility. I nearly chucked up..

    Interesting point ....
It's a full width vw microbus rear bench seat that I've got though, so I could just bite the bullet and fix the seat part to the floor as normal, and the backrest part to the bulkheads ...
Not sure how braking would be an issue if it's already right up against the bulkheads (?)

I wouldn't do this unless I can put together head restraints that are over engineered so they definitely do a modern level of job (so full length jointless metal frames to the floor for example)
I'm more interested in this rear facing travel sickness factor, which I hadn't considered.
Don't like the idea of across facing seats as there's no way of protecting people's necks ... unless I get some second hand seats from Alton Towers!
I guess I could get a "stock" middle seat and reinstate that facing forwards .... Not the same though really is it?
