Struggling to find a few nuts and bolts. The first ones are for the rear hubs. I need two of these that I think are 35mm M14 x 1.5mm with the spring type washers. They go here: And look like this: The other ones are plastic but stainless steel would work too. They go in the back where I presume some sort of rear seat belt might go: And also in the floor: I need 8 of them, I think they are 1.5mm M11 x 1.5mm and they look like this: Does anyone have these or can somebody point me to a supplier please. Thanks all.
Two of the big bolts would be great if you have them with the springy washers please. I have 3 of the plastic ones so really only need 5 if you have them please?
If Davidoft only has a couple of the plastic ones, does anyone else have any of these please or are they hens teeth? Oh and one more of the big bolts?
Fir tree plugs are available from https://www.vital-parts.co.uk/fir-tree-plugs---ftp083-1834-p.asp If you want to replace the plugs with bolts, the worldwide standard for seat belt mountings is 7/16 UNF, not metric. I think @paradox bought some of the swing arm bolts a year or so ago - although I might be wrong. Incidentally, the bolt grade should be 10.9, don’t use standard 8.8
I bought the long ones that have the nut on the other side Don’t know how to do a link on my phone but they were from Spalding fasteners
@paradox did you find the correct spring washers too? I’m just putting together a shopping list of bolts as I’ve decided to replace them all rather than replate for piece of mind. The price of bolts from the vw suppliers is a joke so I’m sourcing from fastener suppliers but our local fasteners doesn’t do spring washers, only those split spring ones. Cheers. They seem to have about 5 different names. Will be ordering all the rear suspension bolts and bits tonight I hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah my local does sell them in A2 stainless. I assume that’ll be fine? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah sorry I was referring to the washers, not the bolts. Will definately be getting the standard steel 10.9 jobbies for the bolts, is stainless for the washers ok?
Washers should be same grade as bolts / nuts, otherwise if they are softer will squash and the set torque will not be maintained . I bought some for my trailing arms and had to buy minimum quantity, so got some left over, if your interested could sort some thing out ?
