Both ours are exactly like Snotty's 'cept for the blingtastic colour (and the small radius'). Us paupers have to settle with matt black painted gearboxes
Later busses had different forks with no round rubbers and a solid metal block Earlier late bay on the left Later late bay on the right The blocks are interchangeable but if you try to fit the earlier forks on a later gearbox they are too long and the bell housing won’t line up with the hangers
Thanks guys. You've put my mind at rest. Just got to replace the front shift rod that's been welded up with birdMarmite and all the bushes and bellows now.
As far as I’ve gathered over the years If you have a brass bush where the shift rod enters the nosecone Then you have the earlier longer prongs with circular bushes. Although I’ve seen plenty missing the circular bushes with no apparent negative effect If the nose come has a rubber rotating shaft seal Then it uses the later forks with no circular bushes and a cheap looking bit of bar as the clamp. I’ve seen two busses with the forks welded to the rear torsion tube
I racked my brains as to what the bushes are for. You'd think they'd be part of the tranny mount, to damp vibration. They're not. I think maybe they're just spacers . You can live without them...
You need to bear in mind that at a point in the past these busses were worth feck all and a lot of dodgy repairs were carried out to keep them on the road for as little outlay as possible Expanding foam and fibreglass filler used to be a dubbers freind
That's Splitty owners...downstairs. How else are they going to get in Round The Back at Volksworld? C*ck ring and blue coil
We shouldn’t mock Your old and I’m rapidly getting older All of us were young and daft at some point in our life And many of us young or old gain comfort in conforming and belonging to a social group We will look at the t4/t5 crew and the way they camp and and party in a different light in the future At least they have the mind to escape from towns for a weekend
