  1. Busy day today on crewcab MOT this morning , failed on horn and washer. Adjusted the CSP shifter as it sometimes was able to find reverse without the use of the button ! Then fitted the hoops and bows to the rear flatbed and for the first time put the rear canvas on . After tea fitted the 3 bow roof rack that I restored earlier in the year and finally as it only arrived this afternoon fitted my new steering wheel and boss which was a birthday gift off the wife back in April . Oh almost forgot i bled the brakes too IMG_5933.JPG IMG_5940.JPG IMG_5936.JPG IMG_5937.JPG IMG_5938.JPG

Have you fixed the horn and washer though?

  4. Once upon a time...... when I purchased the crewie back in February it had an MOT, this was a condition of the sale. But as the bus was delivered by trailer and put straight into the garage, it was then having given the bus a good looking over , that I realised that it couldn't of legitametley of passed an MOT.
    1. No horn button on steering wheel.
    2. No horn !
    3. Washers not working at all.
    4.Wheel nuts missing !
    5.3 bulbs out.
And a long list of other things missing or not correct, which incidently have cost quite a lot to rectify.

Hence since I promised my self I would go to Tatton in it, I've been working towards this. I fitted a new horn to it earlier in the week and the new steering wheel tonight so only tried it a few hors ago ! it doesn't work !! the washers need air in which I will do tomorrow night.
But technically I have an MOT. Just the horn's not working..............................

  7. Actually it was ordered end of may, but still took 10 weeks + ....there not cheap but worth every penny. Beautifully made and very lightweight.
It took me a while to decide on the combination i.e. style of wheel, colour and type of boss ? will have a look at fault tomorrow ta!

I've read in the last couple of days that the government have tightened up the rules by removing the assumption that vehicle registered early in the year are exempt.

Can't remember where I read it tho!! Sorry :(

Survived another week without it. As a consolation i am just off to weld a boat rudder. .. The Hurley 22 is another child of the 70's complete with badly engineered aftermarket parts.

Well not strictly today but since last Sunday, we've been to Devon for a week of rain, walking and surfing. The dogs first time in the van and first time on a beach. He had the best time!

  18. Both cab doors now lock-motorised, flooded with Dynax, double-membraned and recarpeted, after the last doorcards fell apart. Even got shiny new window winders. I never want to see the inside of them ever again, ever, ever.

  19. Sorry about the delay - and also I don't know the answer. No reversing light. But I don't use any oil either!

  20. Nice - like the orangè speaker grills.

Did you trace your old door cards or purchase new ones - if so who from as mine are so warped they defy tracing!
