It's a shame as I found them helpful and happy to open boxes to show me what was what and what I needed when they were in Tilehurst a few years ago. Not defending the jet sizing but...
Nope , but `our kid` had new ICT`s fitted on his beetle about 12 years ago . Eurocarb were very helpful ( on the telephone ) but adamant the kit was perfectly jetted for a 1500 out of the box . He ended up blowing wads on trying to get things sorted - pre computer days , remember those , when you had to believe what the `experts` told you ?? Why would i want to give hundreds of quid to a company who`ve had it wrong for years and really aren`t bothered ? I`m surprised in this age of litigation they haven`t been taken to the cleaners by some boring old fart .... `Fit for purpose` is a term often quoted .
I've been there, they do jet carbs but someone they prefer to listen to told/tells them how to jet, probably a Beetle owner.
Touche .... Shame they don`t listen when anyone else asks for a specific set up , as has been quoted on here MANY times , they`re not exactly peanuts are they ?? On a brighter note - love the DYMO abuse
So i spoke to eurocarb, they are adamant that the f78 works and all of their trade customers use them wit that setup, he mentioned peter burgess?, anyway when i said that i would try them and if they are incorrect i would call them back for a refund on the f78's he said they would not do a refund, only an exchange at best case scenario. They arent interested, and the impression i get is that they get this complaint very often, and they feel they know better. So i am confused, as there are a lot of people saying the f78 is wrong and they are saying it is right. I have ordered the f6 and will put them in based on the advice on this forum. It is all very confusing, and the phone call was very tense. ... .
I'm certain Peter would go with F6 as when he did our ICT's, I told him what was fitted & he said perfect!
They obviously don't drive them. I expect they also have a spreadsheet showing they do a roaring trade in f6 emulsions.
They do help stop the petrol boiling in the carbs... Even thin ones help but I just let it boil when I've run ICT's.
The spacers do help. Maybe we should all buy jets from Fast road Cars instead as they are cheaper. The response from Eurocarb is disappointing. It is interesting that on their website it says, Carbs Jetted to suit your engine, no one else does this. Maybe they should also add, 'and neither do we'.
Maybe somone should out of fairness send them a link to the thread for thier comment. It may offer them some insight and you never know might change thier thoughts on how to deal with customers.
To be honest, their attitude on the phone was less than agreeable. I think if I knew this before I bought them I would have specified the jets etc I wanted. But they charge extra for that.
