  1. Got steering column back in and the hand brake plus dash today :)[​IMG][​IMG]

  2. Well iv made a start on the pop top replacedall the wood in the bottom part and repairing the fiber glass as I go some cracks and damage :)[​IMG] with such a nice evening I thought I would finsh and spray the air filter :)[​IMG]

Got a lot done today 1 I had to respray the front quickly today as when the van got moved:mad: It got chipped and it was bugging me:rolleyes: then converted the brake master cylinder push rod as so rusty so cut it up and replaced thread [​IMG][​IMG][​IMG][/URL[​IMG]saves buying a new one at £20:eek:

  4. Got a bit more done to day :)painted the engine bay shields and lined them with insulation sound deadning and fitted them[​IMG] [​IMG]

Did a bit more this bits for @zedders stripped the old paint layers of and polished the m plates up :D[​IMG]got the engine lid filled after changing the hinge parts from wire to proper hinges and primed it [​IMG]il leave it a few days then rub down and top coat ready to fit :)I fell like I'm actually getting some were now :)as money allows :rolleyes:

  7. Always the way, when I've got the time don't seem to have the money, then when the money's there no time - some sort of restoration phenomenon...... Keep at it, looking very good !

  8. Played about a bit to day with this and that got the engine running after the van hasn't had one for probably 15 years [​IMG]
    Had a little bit of a problem with fuel pump it's not very old but wouldn't pump so took it of and found :eek:this[​IMG][​IMG] the little rocker shaft had snapped at the pivot point but luckily I had a spare :)

  10. Ye thanks :thumbsup:I did on the new one , that's gone to the bin now luckily I had an old one so used that instead of that brazillian crap :rolleyes:

  11. I am quite new to this forum so have missed your epic restoration . I am amazed at your skill and endurance and take my hat off to you . If you are ever down in Cornwall give me a shout , it would be an honour to buy you a couple of pints and hear the story . Well done .

Cheers well you come to the right place there a mad lot on here:easter: but if your ever stuck or don't know how ect this lot will help after the micky taking ;)but be careful I might take you up on your offer:) as that's some were we want to take the bus next year when it's done before going abroad with it as a shake down
     
  13. Another bit finished [​IMG]that was a late engine lid that I fitted early hinges to get to fit :)

Had a good day today:chewie: on the van got some more bits done tail gate and engine lid on[​IMG][​IMG] also got the rear window in with a little bit of help from the wife I knew I could get her to do something on the van :rolleyes:made some bits to make the bumper brackets longer for the tow bar iv been making[​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]Then started more work on the pop top base finished repairing the cracks with glass fibre and then filled and laid down I nice thick layer of primer;) and gave the towbar a coat ready for a bit of wet and dry tomorrow then top coat[​IMG][​IMG] hopefully weather good to but had busy day:)

  18. Thanks but it was the other half :rolleyes:I said pick a colour from the vw colour chart and that's wot she chose ;) but I like it :chewie::D
     
  19. Got the top coat on the towbar and the pop top base then finished the rear tin as had to replace some metal as rotten and missing [​IMG][​IMG]
