I had no plans, other than to become merrily drunk. Yesterday it appears that I became very drunk. And today I have an email telling me I've bought a car in Leeds with a V8 engine. Mrs. Fishtrousers is less than happy with me.
i've been weeding the gardens for the last 6 hours and i'm aching like a barstool. why did a man who hates gardening buy a house with a massive load of gardens? oh yes, 'cos it had a huge garage for the bay he doesn't have anymore............... FAIL. the good news is my new shower is ace.
Hmm, she's not spoken to me since this morning. Just to clarify, it wasn't a daft ebay punt, it was advertised on a proper motoring forum and I paid the full asking price. And it's being delivered on the eighth And it has no mot And I struggle to put fuel in a car correctly And she probably won't be speaking again for a while.
Love the bikes pics. Some nice ones at the Laughton Show yesterday. Warm sunny day so thousands turned up and made it a great day. I liked the steam traction engines and I noted this year there were a lot more of the scale (small and manageable) ones. Traction engines in miniature. I'd love one. Spoke to a nice couple who had one each! They weigh a bit over half a ton and the owners take them around in their vans or small trailers. Make a good hobby for someone with engineering skills and equipment and who likes making parts or getting parts made. Met a very nice chap at the show with his Bedford Dormobile which he owned from new. He is age 82 and still doing it. Near to his camper was a fantastic red MG TC, 1947, which he also owned and drives. What a man. Also nearby was an prototype bay westfalia which was nice, but the folks loved that Dormobile. Taking my van to the Tinkers Park steam rally next weekend. As you can tell, I like steam. Shame I am a bit too old now for the bikes, had BSA's and Triumphs in the 60's and early 70's.
Bit of an odd one really .... After an operation , the Lady of the house wasn`t keen to wrestle around in the 3/4 bed so the bank holiday plans of a few nights away in the van sort of fell through . So .... spur of the moment we took the opportunity of flying up to visiting my folks and hopefully bump into some mates in glorious Yorkshire Saturday - met up with a few mates who had cars on show at Batley Vintage Day ... (That`s one of theirs , the Bedford CA . What you can`t see is the MGB engine he squeezed in ...) Great day out and good to meet up as they weren`t expecting me to be there Sunday - took mi old mum for a bimble around the Dales and stopped for lunch at the best pub in the world .... EVER The Crown at middlesmoor , great pub , a real character as landlord and an amazing location - top of a hill at the end of the road . I`ve spent many long nights in here and it`s one of those places where at some point in the evening something utterly bizzarre will happen Top weekend - despite not being in the van and totally spur of the moment it worked out really well
I was reluctantly dragged back .... The Crown is a fine place to be . Classic line from the landlord on Sunday ... Punter walks in " are you doing a Sunday a roast ?" Malcolms reply , dry as you like - "nay lad - not today .... couldn`t find a cow to kill ..." Punter walks off bemused
Just got back from a glorious weekend paddling in the Wye valley with my canoe club. Took some time out on Sunday to meet up for lunch in a riverside pub with Mr & Mrs @sANDYbAY, @MK-Bay, @Mrs-MK-Bay. Great to meet some more TLBers. Hope you all had a safe trip home today.
Iv just been working all weekend bar Sunday and now cream crakered !! Back to work in morning hope to kick start the beetle again !!
Drove back from Bearded Theory for a friends sons 10th bday. Saw inside the very tidy @72wilma van . (Got home and put Sunday nights clothes in the washer ) @Dicky nice to see you too. Think I was a bit "confused " so thought when you asked if I'd seen anyone I thought you meant other TLBers! . Stiff little fingers most enjoyable
Lol, i expect everyone to be compus mentus and on the ball at festivals at all times! Good to see you anyway!needed to be home so left earlyish. seeing SLF in a few weeks so nowt lost. Fantastic weather, got sunburned a little. Enjoyed seeing a few bands and catching up with some old friends I hadn't seen for a while but I got absolutely peed off with that bloody dance tent. it was a totally invasive noise everywhere you went, including camping and I was some distance away. Not sure id go again tbh!
I'm not sure if I could hear that? Was prob cos fella behind had his own dance hall going in his van! His most annoying habit tho was running his van for an hour at a time in the day when we were sat outside by ours.
