to be fair the m codes germany stick on the birth certificate are crap, mine for the westy has "fog lights" on it and "code unknown" as well - i'll try and stick a picture up later at home.
Yes I agree my first certificate came back with the wrong chassis number. I had to send it back to get sorted. Took about five months....
I've asked them this morning why mine doesn't have an exact "built" or "left factory on" date and they've just said it wasn't available. Makes it pointless really.
I'm not sure they didn't offer that as a option. I read it somewhere and saw a westy interior with devon or danbury roof at one of the big shows. I thought we had talked about it?
I thought devon would convert/put a roof on any van that was taken to them, its quite possible that it was bought as a tintop westy SO73 and then taken to devon for the poptop. Also, every van I've had has had the double the amount fuel thing on it.
Looking at pictures of a rear hinge westfalia and a 75 Devon the roofs look the same size I am still working on following a few bits on the net a SO73 model has a hole with strengthening bits. Then a m 073 is for a westfalia roof. http://www.ratwell.com/pages/MyWesty.html
as i said, the certificate is crap.... my bus was identical to @rob.e 's...... 1 year only champagne and they are both not the same on the certificate...... the blokes filling the forms in go like this " zee stuuuupid englanders - we put anything and all they want is the free road tax ya? next one has option m 069 fallen madonna with the big boobies"
Perhaps it left the factory destined for westfalia to convert but Devon bought it from them to convert??
I know that a special order was made in its thousands, but you generally had to ask specifically for one.
