YOUR HELP REQUIRED - VW magazine focus group

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by james peene, May 1, 2012.

  1. Hello,

I've also posted this on a couple of Bus forums so apologies if you've read this else where but it would be great to hear from the Late Bay crowd just to show I'm not really prejudiced! ;)

Basically, do you live anywhere near London (SE1 0SU) or Croydon (CR9 1HZ) or are you able to get to either location without too much hassle?

    If so we need you!

    And your opinions too!

We're planning to run a number of focus groups in relation to VolksWorld Camper&Bus magazine.

If you read the magazine you may have noticed we tweaked some of the designs/fonts and introduced some new elements a couple of months back and really want to get some feedback on what we've done.

Also it would be great to hear your thoughts about the content we include or currently don't include in the mag.

Even if you don't read C&B your opinion as a VW lover is still valid so you can definitely be of help.

We'll be holding our focus groups at:

    Leon House
    233 High Street
    Croydon
    CR9 1HZ

    And:

    The Blue Fin Building
    110 Southwark Street
    London
    SE1 0SU

If you can let me know your preferred location I can add you to our list.

Exact times and dates are to be confirmed but we're thinking around 6.30pm so we can offer you a drink and a bite to eat as we have a natter.

Anyone interested in helping us/participating in a focus group can email me direct at james_peene@ipcmedia.com

If you can let me have your name, a contact number and tell me what VW you own too I can add you to our list and contact you with further details when we have them.

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon.

    james

Is this a bit like the Run to the Hills show write up we did and didnt hear a single jot of anything back from you

For us, we did a draft write up of Bus Stopover for hayburner magazine, Ned read it over and suggested what improvements needed to be made to the write up, which we duly did & it got featured.

C & B has a much larger backing (as its been around for a good number of years, with great success) so you should have the resource to be able to get back in touch and suggest improvements for any show write up.

It was Camper and Bus who approached thelatebay for this feature, it should be followed through, surely?

    Thoughts please?

    Is this a scam?

I seem to remember something similar very recently where pictures were being asked for.

Send no funds and make up and address just in case.

I could be being helpful, but am probably just arsing around with this reply.

    Stay safe.

Nice to be asked ,but i live too far away :(

Take a look at hayburner , it was a good first issue :)

ok , there's nothing wrong with camper and bus it caters to all vw camper and bus models and i like the articles , there's a good selection of used vehicles and Hans Clapp does a good feature , the shiny ones get on my manbooobs a bit but thats just me , i think you cater well for vw camper owners and prospective owners .

Tbh if your mag had'nt carried the torch in recent years i don't think the scene would attract so many newcomers as most people don't do shows :)

  9. I used to work in a building at the intersection of Southwark Bridge Road and Southwark Street - no longer though so I will just grumble about another london-centric focus group

  10. I stopped buying this mag a long time ago as i was fed up spending my dosh on something that appeared to have been written by 10 year olds. Poor spelling and grammar in a publication is unacceptable. Can i assume you've rectified this as you're so worried about fonts and tweeks?

  11. are there gonna be any jk employee,s there ...i feel a kidnapp coming on ,

vw focus group loooooooooooool ,do your own journo job and stop nicking other people,s idea,s.

and give me a column in your magazine ,trust me your turnover will go up ...everyone loves johnny >:D

Sorry did we not do this a while ago.

    Most people said they wanted
Real peoples vans and the story's that went with them worts and all.
    Readers DIY restorations.
Pictures that showed the buses and not a scrap yard with a van in the corner.
    Peoples camping story's.

Not i decided out of the blue i wanted a van so went out and spent loads of money on a show van and by the way its for sale.

I think your reply was something along the line of over your dead body

Why bother asking if you then ignore the responses?
It's a boring mag anyway. Same old stuff churned over and over...

Is it time of month for you lot

  16. I only browse my dads copy and honestly can say I'm glad I don't buy it. 5 minutes is all it takes to read it. I don't read the credit card campers, not interested. I want to hear about people's hard earned DIY rebuild and the laughs along the way.

Hayburner mag works because it is written by owners for owners. With correct spelling and punctuation.

Oh and what is it with T4/5's? I definitely don't want to be reading about them.

To me the problem is your trying to please to many people, you should be a specialist magazine.

  20. i bought this mag a few times when i first bought the van and thought it was ok but after the 3rd time i stopped for all of the reasons stated above! plus it has a shed load of advertising so spend most the time flicking and then oh is that it!
hayburner is more my kinda thing. to me the content is much more closer to home and interesting. yes a lot of advertising but i guess thats how its funded so its free to us none throwing 30 grand at a bus peeps ;)
