Driving home tonight car pulls alongside keeping up with me for a while, I glance over and family in car taking pictures with camera phones!!!! Very embarrassed but one must suffer such hardships! Its a hard life driving my orange rust bucket! We exchange waves ... See I even wave to Vauxhall Insignia owners.... I am no camper snob hahaha. ;-)
Thats not embarrasssing thats cool! I love it when people in "normal" cars wave or give me the thumbs up when im in my van its great they appreciate old dubs.
had a fella outside this morning taking photos of the van with his fone - when he looks at them later though he'll see me in the background giving him the "what you doing at the end of my drive" look.
I had some people who drove up in their car, parked up outside my house and had a bloody good nosey round the van which was on the drive at the time. It was a couple apparently. I was out, but my next door neighbour watched them and took their car registration number for me.
was parked in rural lay by enjoying the day ,a car pulled over , lady approaches me from same car, tells me she loves bays ,has seen them on a t.v. prog and wants to know if they are expensive to purchase /expensive to maintain< i did my best re her questions ,trying to be not so negative re they are not a "buy and drive " purchase , but ,where do you go with those questions ? <i was covered in oil having just finished a service .(dont really watch tv, many people talk to me re what is on tv re campers?)
You are joking I always try to well ....not put people off as such but let them know up front, Bays are not a turnkey and forget vehicle , they need old school maintenance - and not with a laptop either hahha. But I do tell them they are fun and it does only cost me about £4 to service so go stick that in your Mr Fiat 500 stop-go free roadtax pipe! ;-)
Had one of those "thinking about getting one of these" dicusions today. I advised him to get a good quality T25 water cooled or a T4 or a Bongo! (Politely of course and in preference order)
