There's plenty of snow and it's set at Christmas time......so yes. Notting Hill only has snow in one scene, but I always watch it at Christmas.
I like the good old days you know it was Christmas The sound of music ,paint your wagon was on tv and Cliff Richard was number one
Given the existence of "Hallmark" (as in greetings card company) Christmas films, if I was a director I wouldn't want anything I made to be called a Christmas Movie! But yes, anything that shows around Christmas, is set at Christmas, and provides an alternative to the all-American homespun goodwill Hallmark dross is a good thing to have.
Love Actually is a great film, that could have been better if they chopped out a lot of the rubbish story lines ie the Laura Linney one and the Keira Knightley/Andrew “Egg” Lincoln one
If it’s not a Christmas film, how come you can buy tree decorations??! Hmm? Hmm? the defence rests, your honour.
For a film to qualify as a Christmas film it has to comply with the following 1. It must hav snow scenes 2 it must have a hard up hero who is put down by everyone who he / she meets 3 The hero or main character always makes good and falls in love . 4 it must have abandoned small animals that find somewhere warm in someone's house for the rest of Christmas 5 The soundtrack will have a mix of music from at least 4 decades ,2 tracks will have jingling bells and at least two more will reference a fat bloke in a red suit stuffing a turkey down your chimney .The lack of a chimney on modern houses is glossed over in the hope that you don't notice you've never had a chimney . 6 it must have a happy ending ,orphans given present ,stray dogs taken in ,pensioners given a heating bonus ,and no queues in marks and Spencers .
