Would anyone be interested in re-manufa.cured seat runners?

  1. This is not a for sale thread, what I am trying to gauge is interest in whether there would be interest in new seat runners / brackets?

I'm asking as the outer one (sits over the wheel) is the one that rusts and that means you need to source a good section hand one to replace it (or if someone has removed them to fit aftermarket seats and you want to go back to stock).

I have had to pay up to £70 for a good rust free RHD set and £60 for LHD rust free, then drill out the spot welds from where they were cut from the scrap vehicle and have a section of tub attached.

Anyways, a fabricator I know thinks he can make a set for £40-50 provided he makes them 10 at a time, so I said I'd ask on here as to be honest that is cheaper than a scrap cut and new + plus no messing around prepping the s/hand ones. They would be supplied in bare steel with the holes from the plug welds pre cut so simply offer up, tack to check fit and then weld in place.

I imagine it would be 2/3 the price for the outer section only and he thinks £10-15 for the passanger brackets on their own (currently £26 from KK)

These are what he would make (LHD and RHD runners)

I will see him again after Christmas and if there is enough interest I'll get some deposits and get him to make them (he has LHD and RHD OG runners to fabricate the new ones from)

    Would anyone be after these?

  2. I would be interested in the passenger ones and I'll have to check the condition of my runners before I know if I need them too.

    ;D
