anyone got measurements on making one, or do i need one? mine appears to be silver insulation taped up there - unsure if wood is under it i don't want to remove until i decide what to do, gonna need something to mount my firetec hose to, what's the wood for exactly?
Yes it's sound deadening. Earlier ones had rather good metal sheets instead of the hardboard. Early bays didn't, but I just bought a pair to see if they'd fit in mine. If they don't they'll be up for sale - not a lot of money, about £30 posted. Just the ticket for your late bay.
I had a quick look but some @hailfrank has lowered my van 2 splines and it makes my back ache looking in there. From my quick look I think they may not fit - too short front to back. They're in great condition just a bit dirty. I might even chuck in some special wide head pop rivets to fit them if I can find them.
lowering is no good for older gents, i like high high high, been under mine today checking for leaks without a jack, found 2 people sleeping under the front arches.
It hardboard and usually has insulation / sound deadening behind it. I'm workingon the van tomorrow if you still want measurements
No problem ill get some pics and measurements for you, (assuming it doesn't persist down all day). Might even make you feel at home and get someone to video me measuring it!
