Wonky van???

  1. Just noticed the van sits lower on the near side at the rear. No I haven't got a flat tire before you ask. Any ideas as to where I should look first. Not really got my head around the suspension at the rear of these things. Cheers in advance

  2. How low is low? Obvious question, but is there something heavier on that side?

If not, may be a tired torsion bar. If it's sitting right down on the bump stops, the torsion bar's snapped (which can happen).

  3. check front suspension. often a fault at the front will manifest itself with an awkward stance at the rear.

  4. If you've got a 3/4 R&R and have filled your cupboards with Marmitee you'll get that stance.
T4's owners fit a stronger spring on the cooker/cupboard side to combat the effect, not sure what you can do to a bay?

I thought they did this to accommodate the weight of the fatter of the two navvies they carry...the one that starts the song about onion rings and chips....

  9. I had noticed this on my van and when was up on a ramp I had a good look think my swing arm bushs are worn not checked yet as not had new ones come but gonna save them for te next month

  10. If it's just a small amount you can turn the splines on the torsion bar. Using the right combination of inner and outer splines you can adjust to about 4mm accuracy. Or stuff a bottle of helium in the cupboard.

  11. The world is running out of helium
