Jeeeeezzzzuussss  I reckon get any eleven blokes of here, put a wig on and we'd win a gold medal

  2. I did, was hoping for lots of goals and tops off, alas it was a single goal :-(

  3. Yeah I saw some, they played just like are mens team, crap. Caught a glimpse of the japan team playing, their goalie had a really unfortunate name though, not sure I can print it on here but here go FUKUMOTO.

  4. no didnt see any of it - despite Usain Bolt being virgin medias number 1 advertising tool, VM has been off air for me since 1600 until 15 minutes ago

  5. No and I will never watch wimmins football

  6. Hahaha the north Korean women walked off the pitch as they put the wrong flag up.

South Koreans flag was on the scoreboard. Kim Jong one nil. Think it was in Glasgow

Got to say - having coached women's rugby for 15 years - I absolutely support people's choice not to watch any sport played by any gender.

Women's rugby has become far more successful when it dropped the notion it had to win over people - my view is watch it, if you don't like it, cool, don't watch it.

As to regard to the quality etc - women's gender dictate speed and power (or they get hit with 'being like men') - however the bravery, hardness and intelligence are more than a match (put it this way, I played pro rugby for over 10 years and never had a bloke run off the pitch, hand me his three front teeth he'd just had knocked out, and then get back in the game, I've even coached players undergoing chemo for cancer).

I've never met any woman that thought they could match the men's game directly so I fail to understand some blokes insistence on a like for like comparison (not saying that is being said here). Put it this way, if you swapped the brain of the player into the body of the opposite gender, do you think the gap would be huge?

As for lower levels in the sports ability - some of those players have only been playing for a matter of months with no coaching - I admire anyone that takes up sport at any age to be honest.

  9. It was a pleasure to watch a game of football that did not stop every 2 mins so that a bloke could roll around on the floor clutching his face after he had been tapped on the shoulder. There was a fair bit of hard tackling (S. Africa's right back, Sister) and they got up and played on.

Looking forward to the quarters onwards as the better sides face up to each other!!

  10. I would be unlikely to watch women's football, not because they are women but because it will not have the same speed, aggression, power, skill and atmosphere as the men's game. This applies to junior football and U18's etc. I just like the senior game. I hope our womens team do themselves proud and I encourage women to play as who knows how good it may be in the future. But for now I will stick to premiership and league footie. The GB mens team do not interest me either, nor does any olympic footie team.

The olympics for me mean track and field, cycling, swimming, shooting etc. Not footie. And i am looking forward to friday. :)

I'll tell you why I started this thread :) Watch Womens Athletics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Swimming and loads more events and you'll see great sport, top class skills and brilliant champions, no ordinary bloke could live with them, even good class county athletes cant match the top women athletes, watch womens football and its shocking, the standard is so poor that any blokes pub team would beat them, one of these teams will be crowned Olympic champions and get a gold medal for something so poor, our men are miles behind the rest of the world in football and I dont think it should be in the olympics either

  12. Maybe they do it to enjoy the bath after and have a pint ;D

  13. I just watch women sports like swimming tennis etc to see how fit the women are... ;)

    football/rugby/shoput etc= not fit... ;D

  14. I'm looking forward to the beach volleyball. I am a keen fan. >:D
