Haha, you could tell the burger just didnt sit right. Plenty of doughnut recipes from the great US of A, they love all that.
I would like to give it another crack but with a milder cheese and fresher burger. I am convinced it will work. Most US recipes call for a fried egg too.
Worth a go, don't forget a drizzle of maple syrup. Another one, banana - fried, crispy bacon, drizzle of maple syrup between two halves of a doughnut.
