Wipers

The wipers on my bus don't stop at the bottom of the screen when I turn them off , they just stop where ever I stop them , normally in the middle of the screen, I am sure this must be a fairly easy fix?

any ideas?

 

You have to practise precision switching off

 

don't know about VW's but on a mini there is a small micro switch in the wiper motor that controls this

hopefully VW did it the same way

 

Sounds as if you have lost the live to the motor have a look for lose wires around the motor

 

When you switch off the wipers there's a track inside the motor that takes over and ensures it stops at exactly the same point each time. I can't begin to describe this but it's quite easy to understand with the mechanism on the bench.

 

There is a park switch inside the wiper mech thats keeps power to the motor until they're in the parked position. Might be duff or clagged up, or you may have iffy wiring to the switch. Easy enough to fix if you take the wiper mech out.
