Wiper spindles

  1. I'm pretty sure the passenger spindle is seized :(

I noticed that the wiper was loose on this side and had a look and the locking nut on the outside was undone so I tightened it up and the wipers stopped working, as the motor turns the lock nut came undone and the wipers will now move if they are not in contact with the glass but will not move if they are in contact with the screen.

As such, is it possible to just replace the spindle (the bit that passes through the body work that the wiper arm bolts onto) or is it a tad more difficult than that?

  2. Try getting some plus gas penetrating spray on it to loosen it up

  3. Tried that earlier and it seems to have made no difference, yet

  4. Just ordered a replacement from megabug as it sounds like where it has stuck it's stripped the plastic cogs.
