i got my pump off an old Ford in a breakers for £0.50p and used one of the old switches I had in a draw. Those kits are expensive for what they are - a bit of lateral thinking will always get a job done cheaper. But that whirring drives me mad. I do tend not to use the washer actually, apart from around MOT time - mainly because my wipers are so crap! I think I paid the same for my split charge relay - 8 years on still going strong.
I vented my discs by fitting fake fuchs wheels I suffered major brake fade going to and coming back from the Gower last year up over the heads of the valley road. More to do with knackered discs and worn out pads than anything though. For me though there are some quirks I prefer to overcome - I don't mind getting my hands dirty, but that's reserved for the garage - when I go out for the day I prefer not to have to get dirty pumping up a 1930's water bottle! I know what you mean though
It too get a wet leg when I pull the washer stalk. So I guess I have perished pipes. Does anyone have a guide to getting the steering column apart to reach the valve? Would like to fix it instead of buying a new electric kit.
Yorky, if your standard washer works then keep it, I've got a miniature bike pump that I bought for my mtb and keep it in the glove box if you lose pressure it takes seconds to add a bit. No point spending money on leccy pumps!
What with one thing and another only just got round to this. Your instructions worked a treat Valve was fine just had to repalce the two pipes leading to it. Have some karma.
