We stayed here for 1 night on an impulse "lets get away in the van" sort of thing 11th-12th August.

This is a very well equipped site, and the facilities I'd best describe as "luxury", everything is absolutely spotless and new. Nice showers, washing up areas, a dog walk and a playground area for the kids. This is reflected in the price - it was £22 for one night (this included a charge for hookup and for our dog). The pitch we had was massive, which was great - I hate being crammed in somewhere, almost on top of other campers.

We had a pitch with electric hookup. They don't allow tents, and if you're pitching an awning, don't forget your rock pegs, because under the grass, the ground is a bit hard. They have security barriers that you need an electronic key for, and you need to make sure you've got £10 for the deposit for this.

The site is also very handy for both Formby and Ainsdale - in fact it's only 1.8 miles from Ainsdale Beach and if you're feeling energetic, you could walk to the beach from the site (we did, without any problems) or if you're not feeling energetic, it's 5 minutes drive from the site to the beach.

We'll definitely be going back for a longer stay, as we'd like to see more of the area in the future.
