Will you forgive us?

We haven't completely sold out as we are keeping our VW flat bed truck (for now!). However the time has come to swap Lady Marmalade (still for sale) for Helga a 1992 Hymer 544. It was a difficult decision to make but we have swapped cool for comfort. Helga doesn't quite make people smile in the same way but we do have a toilet with a door on and we are able to shower cook and sleep without contorting our ageing bodies!



Please don't judge us too harshly. The Hymer has the same German build quality of the VW and is a bit quirky.

We have also joined another great site www.motorhomefun.co.uk which many of you may already subscribe to as well as this great site.

Only joking - at least you still have the flat bed and the Hymer isn't so bad unless you are traversing the narrow roads of Norfolk where i saw one get stuck once.

Is that a Fiat badge on Helga?!

I thought they were based on Mercs.

Have always like Hymers, in the past they were distinctly different to anything else out there though I notice a few motorhomes that have the same design ethos - proof its good I think.

Helga is based on a Fiat Ducato but some are based on Mercedes,. peugeot or citroen but they all the same engine apparently. It really is like a tardis inside

Quite like Hymers..a little classic in style. Hymermobile rolls off the tongue unlike Bongo which suggests foreign slang for something not talked about in refined circles. )

 

Well now you've put me in a right pickle.
After we met you in St Ives and I was so impressed with your chain and lock security system I have religiously used my very own "Marmalade Lock" to keep Skippy secure.

What am I going to call my "Marmalade Lock" now if Lady Marmalade's new owners change her name?

 

LOL just stick with the name the Marmalade lock could catch on.

 

I cannot comment as we did a similar thing recently but not a bad as you we also have a T5 as well as the T2.
