Why the latebay??

  1. I've been a regular for about 18 months now, I've made friends and I've not made friends, as with life.

what is it draws me to late bay? Before the crash of 2011 there was a wealth of knowledge in the mechanical and technical site, and that was my source of knowledge and inspiration for my build of the camper. I bought my bus as a rolling restoration, no windows, just wheels and Shell, unfortunately a day later I was made redundant.

Every cloud has a silver lining as they say. So I took my redundancy and I started working on my bus. I gave myself six weeks from the day i bought the bus to get the vehicle back on the road ready for Bugjam. With the wealth of help and advice from the late bay I had managed to achieve this monumental task within the six weeks I had given myself. It was the big biggest challenge I had given myself mechanically. Don't get me wrong, I've always worked on my own vehicles and I've always done my own repairs, as I've never trusted my local garages. But to do a complete restoration in only six weeks was putting my skills to the fullest.

Fast forward 18 months and right now i have a beautiful semi restored camper, beautiful painted by myself, semi rebuilt interior and worth £10,000 and it is my camper. Built by me.

If it wasn't for the lovely people on the late bay and there wealth of knowledge I would never have achieved this task and my camper and myself would still be sitting in a pile of worthless rubbish.

So to you, various users of the late bay. I thank you, my gratitude for guiding me through the tough times and the good and getting me to the place I am now. I hope that I can return the knowledge that you have bestowed on me to others and that this great tradition continues.

    Thank you one and all.

  2. Glad to be of service! :))

  3. Sorry for the poor grammer, I used Siri to type it all.

  4.
  5. I'm not putting myself down, just the 'Amazing, ground breaking' Technology from Apple, that doesn't quite work right.

  6. "Furry muff!" Said Siri

  7. It's got better with the funny responses but i still don't use it enough to see the benefit. The dictation is good for when I've been drinking, makes typing easier.

  8. My son has a spelling test app on the iPad. However he's discovered by using Siri it will spell it for him!

JK became the private domain of about half a dozen T4 drivers who spoke about nothing but what they were having for breakfast / lunch / tea* so I decided to look elsewhere.
