why is the forum so quiet these days?

Sometimes the unread pages have more For Sale than other thread types. So obviously less people chatting and more people selling. Perhaps folk are feeling the pinch and bus interest has waned?

 

My notifications have been iffy for ages i dont get emails telling me when threads have been posted on so i miss quite alot, and then forget about threads.

 

i used to post every hour ... but now im lucky if its everyday.

the winter months are usually always less busy as people put their bays away - there are less shows, trips away etc.

at the end of the day this place is what you make it ....

 

It was fine before I went to Aberdaron and since coming back it hasent been the same ,that was late August time

I'm probably one of those who's guilty of not participating enough, i'll try and start some threads. In my defence, i work long hours fixing these vans so don't get loads of free time on forums.
Re. Facebook, personally i think it's on the way down, too much advertising, too broadbased, too much Marmitee like farmville etc. niche networking is the future.

 

While I've been reading this I've just found a thread where poptop is talking to himself. I know the forum is quieter but.....

This forum is not quiet if you want quiet go to the late bug site sometimes only a couple of postings a week and always the same people,
I believe we have a good lot of people on here some old timers and some newcomers, myself a member since April I have posted questions on here and always got a good answer,
I picked up a card at elemental this year and hoped to meet a few of you there next year and join the lineup this time, and put faces to names,

would have thought a number of things but I'd put it down to 1. winter and 2. less disposable income so less money for the bus and therefore less enthusiasm for it. I'm not a prolific poster mainly view the forum to build my knowledge/see if anyone is selling any parts i need.

 

I think most people have gone into winter hibernation. Most people don't touch their campers once it starts getting cold.
There is also the old keyboard warrior syndrome, I've noticed a few people having a slagging off from time to time. Best thing to do when someone says something you don't like is to move on. I usually think to myself if I wouldn't say it to their face then I wouldn't say it on-line.
Some people get a bit brave behind the keyboard though lol.
Keep it friendly, witty & informative & people will keep coming back.
Lots of people just read but don't post.
I don't post on most of the stuff I read.
My main interest is the readers rides & restorations. I read every word there & study every picture. If someone is doing a good job I say, if I don't like what their doing I keep quiet. If I think I can give help I offer it.

Did ya miss me rick ;D :-* :-*. Sorry been a bit sad at bedrock but we are still ear. It has changed peeps have found luuuurv :-* n skodas : n aw sorts :- over this last 6months or so. New people on any forum take a while to adjust into being a nutta ??? , just take old snotty n fritt for instance they were on the mech answer your question side but they are now on the turn maybe :- morecombe and wise ;D. People take life and what others say to serious sometimes eeeeven me ??? ;D ;D . Trubble is the written word and second guessing someone elses sense of humour or not on any particular day AND men ee pawzal stuff , teste osta own ,n alike.Anyway all you lurkerz n newbies out their .................... i was n still am learning but join in it can be sooo funny on here too. IF anyone bites ya head off bite um back most of um are reasonably tender but if they are tuff , they cant see you poking your tongue out unless you show um so take no notice or make light. This is one of the funniest cyber places ive been bar the farters forum ;D.Sok Im off now ta write my warm up speech for bettys big party next week ,where im cook, chauffer n washer up too , it aint gona be easy ill tell ya. :

I've still been dropping in on a daily basis, but with having no computer for 2 weeks and the wife being laid up in bed with a slipped disc, i feel a bit out the loop on whats being going on in general in the world of TLB
Also now that i've put the bus away for the winter and the resto has come to a complete stop for now doesn't help with regular posting
