Are the terminals labeled on the regulator? I will go out and measure mine, although it is lashing it down!!
No they aren't labelled, don't worry about it. The leak it weeny too, I've tightened it up a smidge but it was already very tight and I don't want to break it. i may have to drain the tank and fit a new seal. I've cleaned and dried it and giving it 10 mins. I don't fancy starting it meanwhile, the starter is right next to the leak and the nearer i get to finished the more nervous I'm getting about burning it to the ground.
The ones ive got i cant test as my meter wont play ball as its autoranging and gets confused easily. Got 2 which ive no reason to believe are goosed and one which i know i blew the diodes on.
GOOD NEWS!!!! I thought I'd better try the charging and stuff the petrol leak. It works, the light went out straight away. Repeat and the same. That'll do me for now, I'll stop the leak and then test it properly. Looks like a fibre washer on the outlet?
Must have been, I haven't done anything apart from replace the brush pack. I'm quite pleased that taking the alternator out last night wasn't a waste of time!
Nice result Steve; get the fuel leak sorted, get packed and enjoy!! Oh and if your stuck in or around Notts, shout up - not that I hope you will, I hope you pass us by nicely
Except I'll be driving later hopefully, though I'll leave the big journey for tomorrow when the roads should be quiet.
Petrol leak first - guess what? - there was no seal fitted, I found a fibre washer that fits just right. Another shall I/shan't I job I'm glad I did.
