These are my reasons but im welcome to other peaples reasons and explinations The buses and vans act as a windbreak The busses help reflect the heat from the fire pit The effects of both of the above create a micro climate of warmth and light In a circle no one is in charge and nobody feels the cold Every ones sliding door is the same distance away roughly You can put the kids to bed in the bus and still sit round the fire Cooking sort of flows into comunal cooking and collectivly we all have most of what we would need without knowing it to last a month after a show Modern campsites struggle to understand this with us dubbers but there was no concerns in dent they loved us If paras near the fire you should just remind him a few times when theres kids in bed
you never know when them indians may attack... plus ideal for the communial camp fire, and bake bean eaing fartin contest.
Camping in a circle means if someone's handbrake fails, there will always be another camper there to block it from rolling away....
I think it's because, as we all know, buses have personalities. They're one of the crew. No one wants to leave theirs hidden away, they want it included in all the camping fun, listen to their music on their stereo, grab a beer from their cool box, and rustle up a midnight bacon sandwich on their hob. Can't do that to any effect if it's all hidden away in the dark! agree? Oh, and you can sit in front of your own beautiful bus and acknowledge all the admiring glances from fellow campers!
You have all seen them going down the road, following each other, well when they get in a field the front one starts to follow the rear one and when they stop there in a circle ;-)and that's the truth
It's because we are our own Republic and we don't want to talk to outsiders. They just don't understand our ways.
