  1. i'm looking to get whitewalls on my bus, got the standard steel wheels at the moment.

i saw the 325 whitewall trims and immediatley thought.. cheap and tacky.
but then saw some fitted on some tyres and they actually didnt look that bad.

anyone use them and have any opinions?

    carl.

  2. Heard they are not good , and wreck tyres ??

I asked this a long time ago. Most people said the same as Barney.

Mr Whitewall seems a better option - but the tyres need to have some wear on them before they can do that.

  4. Apologies for interrupting but does anyone know what the colour edging strips / trims are called that give a bead of colour around the wheel? Are they any good? Has anyone tried them?

    Thanks,

    Robo...

  10. I like wide whites with standard steel wheels. I've just made wide whites from simple white striped tires by sanding down the white striped back to the white wall. It comes out about 2 inches wide. I've had a set of those whitewall trim, but could not get them to seat, as the tires you use must be narrow, with the face almost straight up and down, much like the originals. I tried with radial tires for my old Ghia, but because the tire came out over the wheel face, the whitewall bent out to much and would not seat against the tire wall.

I'd also go with Mr. Whitewall and have them paint them on. I hear that's a great choice. Anyone else hear???

  11. On either really Robo ,fair play if you want to be different ,its just my opinion :)

I like them, but has anyone any 1st hand experience of using them?

As I think I read on vzi that as long as they fit well, theres no issues.

I've used them; I would never use them again.

  19. I had a set on a type 3 i brought, they didnt stay long!!! They vibrate and distroy the side walls, look ok if you like that sort of thing [IMG] but should be banned - you wouldnt deliberatly run anlong a curb to rip the side out of your tyres would you now???

Look at Karmann Konnection. They do a thin band whitewall tyre that look really sweet on any bus.
