Where would you start?

Think this is the right place to ask this, but wondering about where you would start when laying square vinyl tiles in your bay? Would you start in the dead centre as recommended if doing it at home or in one corner?
They are the 9" square tiles from proud to pop (similar to madmatz) if anyone has used them before
    Thanks

That's the standard way, but you don't want thin slivers of tile at the door or against the units.
Put some down loose and have a play...
then check with the wife that it's acceptable!

  3. Measure up and see how it all sits starting at the units then starting in the middle ...

Was thinking of a dry run, just wondered if there was a trick I was missing!

    Cheers Betty the Bay,
The slivers/odd pieces was exactly what I want to avoid. Will do a dry run and see what works best

  6. Not really but as mentioned , the last thing you want is trying to stick a sliver into a neat edge .

OH - and make sure they`re square , that really IS important

Plenty of straight lines will be planned out on the plywood before sticking anything down, believe me. I always measure twice, no three times at least. And just before I cut or stick I'll check again. Some call me cautious!

If it's extending under furniture/bed on two sides like most vans do, hide the cut ones underneath?

Fit them on an empty floor put the furnishings on top.
May require a lot less fiddling.

I'd arrange them so you have more than 1/2 a tile wherever you have to trim them. Smaller pieces are less likely to stay put.

Thanks Zedders. That's a valid point layout is a recreated Devon Eurovette so plenty of hiding places for cuts.

Sounds like getting the straight edge at the slider sorted then everywhere else it'll run under units and bed.
Just need to get out there and do it. Thanks for all the input so far.
Photos to follow when complete. Only if it goes well, mind!

As promised the finished floor and the units that I built are in. Just need an excuse to take it somewhere now!
Thanks for the advice. In the end my wife laid the tiles - I cut the odd size ones and the then applied the polish!
