Where to stick it!!

  1. We have, what I believe, to be an original Moonraker interior light. Just trying to keep the van original so wondered if anyone knows where this would have been originally been fitted. The roof is the hammock conversion. Many thanks

  2. I've seen them above the window opposite the sliding door.

    But I'm not an expert

  3. That`s a Labcraft light - 8watt , fitted to lots of things in the 70-80s .
The shorter 8w one is harder to find than the longer 16 watt but don`t get all excited and put a 16 watt in as they`re too bright .

Ebay usually have one or two on there at £15-20 used , i think you`d be lucky to find a new one ??

Ours is opposite the sliding door, towards the back

  5. All Devon interiors were brown and discoloured from new

  6. correct as i had / have one of these in my devon.

Kevin & Perry aren't looking for a new one, as they already have one.

I think they are just looking for the correct location, which I would say for them is in Ibiza.

Just to clarify btw, that photo ^ is of our '79 moonraker with full length concertina roof & sliding board bed. I don't know how original the interior is

  8. Thanks for all your replies. So am I right in thinking that the moonrakers could have been fitted with either the 8w or 16 w labcraft light? Our van has the hammocks so not sure if above the windows will work. Has anyone seen one of these lights in a bunk bed/ hammock conversion? Cheers

  9. Mine was above the sink.

    Ooops ...
    Must find mi specs

The Baleric islands is indeed a fab location to fit a light , failing that most are fitted opposite the sliding door.

  11. Yeah don't think that's long enough to be the original, mine was at the back as it the picture.
Sure there';s a link to some brochures somewhere on the site.

  12. Kevin & Perry go large..... in Ibiza
It's a film: Harry Enfield & Kathy Burke. Very juvenile and very funny

  14. Yes it is indeed a good film!! And indeed Kevin and Perry are named after them. The camper was always called Kevin, then when we bought the trailer it was the only duo we could think of!! Thanks guys for all your messages.

  15. Hi, have been looking online for brochures but can’t find any that show the light in them. Were all the moonrakers fitted with a light or was it an optional extra or something that was put in by owners? Many thanks

  16. Thanks Norris for pic

I don't know. As I said, I'm not sure quite how original ours is. There is another light fitted over the sink, but an obvious later addition as it's a more modern looking one
