I've just imported my bus from the USA (you may have heard?!). I need to get it valued so the insurers can give me an agreed valuation, but who can value it for me? A VW owners club? Thanks.
Ok, I know what I paid but not really how much to suggest for an agreed value. Hopefully more than what I paid. I will give the iggle a shout.
pete did a rough value on mine that cherished were happy with when i first enquired - the guy there mark? knew his stuff (benefits of using a specialist) however i didn't use them that time and went with peter james, they requested 6 or more pictures and as long as the value was under 15k they let you self certify it's value - the value is based on a replacement of the same style of vehicle so with mine being limited i didn't have a problem, the 1st year peter james agreed it was worth 14k this year i moved to cherished and we agreed 15k.
Thanks Guys. I'm with Heritage so I shall send them the pics and go for around 15k and work from there. When I spoke to them they did say they realise the true value of campers and the agreed value can be quite a bit higher than people pay. I'll let you know how I get on. 2 days until I meet her!
What you need to understand is what they are looking for is a ceiling price. Make it as high as you can. They'll still argue when it comes to it.
