And you wonder about a song and its title??

l sat here this morning (still in my Randy Crawford mood) wondering who Almaz was that she sang so sweetly about because she was a "lucky lucky thing"

It turns out Almaz is a Russian space station. Who knew?? O0

There's nothing in the rules that says what you can and can't sing about in a pop song. If you look at the lyrics then it's clearly about the aircraft that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. After seeing what Birdy wrote about Almaz, I went and looked at the lyrics, and I can't see how that corresponds to a satellite?

There's nothing in the rules that says what you can and can't sing about in a pop song. If you look at the lyrics then it's clearly about the aircraft that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. After seeing what Birdy wrote about Almaz, I went and looked at the lyrics, and I can't see how that corresponds to a satellite?

I don't think I was saying you shouldn't - just more the observation that its a weird thing to sing about in a slice of 80's synth pop goodness!

I mean - imagine the conversation between Humphreys and McCluskey:

Andy: I've had an idea for a song.....
Paul: Oh yeah, whats that then....
Andy: Well, you know the last one was about relationships?
Paul: Yeah
Andy: And the one before that was about Electricity
Paul: That's right.
Andy: Well, I was thinking that the real breakthrough track should be about the killing of 80,000 civilians including women and children by the crew of an Aeroplane called Enola Gay - which for some reason the pilot named after his mother.
Paul: I think you are on to something there....as long as I don't have to dance in the video again....

Just strikes me as weird - in a week where you had Baggy Trousers, Bad Manners Special Brew and the Nolans all in the same top ten - it was a strange fruit!
