Ant's are very small. Mike is very large. Wouldn't the camera crew keep having to change lenses to film the show?
I miss Ed. He seemed a genuine sort of bloke. Ant is way too pleased with himself. He’s got one of those voices that would be more suited to a shopping channel presenter.
Looks like Ant Anstead has left Wheeler Dealers now. Anyone want to replace him? Hope whoever it is is good at what they do.
I’d do it. I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing. It would be hilarious. just what that show needs. Comedy value. “I’ve cut this sub frame here, I could attempt to weld it, but after the last fire this gorilla glue looks just the ticket. “ I bet you’d all watch it.
I am warning to Ant. He explains stuff and like a laugh. Ex policeman. I watch the re runs one one of the freeview channels so I’m not up to speed if he’s left the show.
Elvis (Marc Priestley) is taking over from Ant, he was with Mike on Dream Cars. He's ex F1 from what Ive read.
Ed left as mentioned as the program producers wanted to reduce the spannering as it's expensive to produce (cost saving!) also, to sell it abroad the Yanks seem to prefer these "make-over" car programmes where they spend most of the program explaining how they pushed it into a workshop and got it out with these bits fitted, and how it now "POPS!"....... *shudder*
Don’t forget about “bumping” or “unlocking” the power, from a quick remap - that’s the future of car tuning programmes, it’s just like entering a cheat code into an old computer game!
That'll be cool. Mike Brewer Motors - he sometimes wears tops with that written on them, I've only seen one of those garages up north near the station is Sheffield. Anyone else heard of them?
Should be good, Elvis knows his stuff. One of the lads at work has met Mike in the Sheffield MBM garage a while back, great bloke from what he said.
I’ve always watched the show until the last series and I just couldn’t bare it any more. The stupid looks on Ants face and the not funny comedy double act.
To be honest, I like them all as neither Ed, Ant or Elvis (based on Dream Cars) are identical, they each bring there own experience to the table. I hope Elvis doesn't prove me wrong. Wheeler Dealers is one programme I don't mind watching repeats of on a rainy day!
The old shows were the best Mark Evans and older wheeler dealers shows ants not too bad, but the format in America is what let’s it down for me too Hollywood. I prefer the U.K. shows, the only thing that gets me is they never have a seized bolt, grazed knuckle or shout things when it don’t go right in my case most of the time
yeah. He used to have a showroom in Luton, but he out grew that so he moved to a much larger premises in Dunstable. To be fair he seems to stock good quality motors and I’ve never heard anyone say they had a bad experience buying from them. Funny enough I was actually going to call in there on sat with my lad to look at an EcoSport for him, but he bought from somewhere else in the end.
I have commented a few times on here about the show, i must admit that Ant has grown on me and i think there is more spannering than when Ed was on the show. Ant still has the annoying hand movements though as if he is picking up something delicate all the time .i did listen to him the other day describing how a turbo works and he was brilliant , yet yesteryday i saw him explaining water levels in a engine with two bottles and he just needed punching
