So, I got to watching Wheeler Dealers in the early 2000's it was good because it was different but bad because of the production and Mike and Ed being new at it all..but I loved it and enjoyed it ... It got better. I actually met Mike at a very small scooter rally where he offered his time for free for a charity at that time , he was not like the guy you see on TV , he was a down to earth , really nice chap... Move on to what we see on TV now , filmed in the USA , mike trying his best but I can't stand that spitting image puppet, gurning Buffon Ant Astead .. the programme is awful now.. Discuss...
What about Elvis (Ant's replacement) what does everyone think of him? He's okay, quite knowledgeable but how much of it is scripted to make his talents look better. Ed was great, I like Ant too but Elvis, not sure.
Quite like Ant .... Edd was a bit bodge and rattle can it .... always seemed not too bothered about presentation of car. Ant is completely the other way ... a bit OCD ..... Not seen one with Elvis yet .... not filtered down to Dave or Yesterday yet.
Was his previous partner Christina I meant, I used to be quite happy to watch a house renovation program she was in with her previous husband and I’m not a massive fan of those types of program
Oooh, yes , I see where you're coming from.. she's ...ermm very pleasing on the eye isn't she... Seems that Ant got sideswiped by fame
It seems so, I hadn’t realised he’d moved on though and seems to be typical ‘Hollywood’ type and changing partners regularly
Elvis is an interesting chap… he used to be a chief spannerer at McLaren. Seems a bit of a come down in the quality of car when he’s trying to flip a 2003 ford Ka for a £200 profit.
I’ve been watching wheeler dealers in Spain On DMAX it’s called Joyas sobre ruedas , Just watched the Porsche 912e they did with interest as it has similar engine to the 2ltr FI engine in the van
This strange reincarnation of WD sucks.. The old one with Ed was interesting and informative.. They saved some fantastic vehicles My mate was working for them, in Aylesbury last year, doing all the real hard mechanical work Preparing the jobs for TV...
My guess is that your mate is probably a lot cheaper per hour than Ed China was, so it’s a way to churn out the same number of programs on a smaller budget. Get the vehicles nearly ready and then do a days filming with whoever is the superstar mechanic this week to do some cake decorating. I know I’m in the minority but I like Mike brewer. I enjoyed the trading up show he did.
